Over the last 15 years we have been working closely with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution on numerous small and large schemes at their main Headquarters and separate Depot Workshop site, which together form the majority of the RNLI’s campus at Poole.
These alterations have included:
- Obtaining Planning Approval for a new Boatyard facility to the value of £5,000,000, which is now being expanded into a much larger scheme currently estimated at over £34,000,000 to incorporate a museum and visitor centre.
- Redesign of their slipway to adapt it to suit hovercraft, which included remodelling the existing slipway, changing the camber and length, etc.
- In Slipway Road (a public access to Poole Harbour) we were employed by the Borough of Poole to act with them, the RNLI and the Environment Agency to redesign the existing stepped approach to the Harbour into a formal public slipway.
We are currently working on our most exciting project to date, the design of a £11.2 million national facility for the production and maintaince of all weather lifeboats at the RNLI's head quarters in Poole. This is due to start on Site in 2013 for completion in mid 2014 and full production by 2019.
We have recently designed and completed a new Manned Model Centre at a lake near Romsey on behalf of Warsash Maritime Academy and Southampton Solent University.
