When
the Royal National Lifeboat Institution decided to take over
Beach Rescue Duties from the various Local Authorities in 2003,
together with the associated properties which were involved, we
were tasked with assessing each Beach Rescue facility for condition,
location, access, facilities, coverage and equipment and to advise
on likely future maintenance liabilities and costs. This involved the arduous task of our Surveyor travelling around
the coastline of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall during the Spring
and Summer of 2003, spending hours on the beach gathering information
about the somewhat unusual buildings including Timber sheds,
Tea Shops, Gun Emplacements etc. A tough job but someone had
to do it! To see our work on the RNLI Warehouse and Distribution Center
